About the event
We’d love to welcome you to Orlock Farm, our working heritage farm on the East Coast, overlooking Belfast Lough, the Irish Sea, Scotland and the Copeland Islands.
Our family has deep Ulster-Scots roots, with generations of farming, music and strong community connections. We continue a legacy that began when the Aird family arrived from Ayrshire in Scotland, combining our farming heritage with sustainable, nature-friendly farming and our love of welcoming visitors onto the farm.
We’ll begin with a seasonal refreshment before heading out on a guided walk around Orlock Farm. We’ll share some of our daily farming life, the story of the land and our heritage, and introduce you to our native Irish Dexter cows, as well as their Scottish friends- The Galloway cattle! We’ll also visit the hives of our native Black Irish bees, Orlock Farm is a Native Irish Honey Bee Conservation Area.
